Traditional students are more likely to file as dependents - they are supported by their parents.  
Non-traditional students are labeled as such because their lives veer off from the concept of an 18-year old heading off to college for four years while still under the general wing of their parents. 
In many cases, non-traditionals are parents. Even if they are not parents, they are more likely to be out on their own. That could be because they are older or because their parents/guardians do not provide for their support. 
PFPs have a lot more non-traditionals. ]]></description>
