I am also a victim of the miscommunication and the lack of prompt responses from the section 8 program. I ported my voucher from tennessee to north carolina just to lose it. This was suppose to have been an opprutunity for me and my family. I never saw the voucher program as a free ticket but a way to better life for me and my children. Going to school, paying off debt in hopes to own a home one day, but instead it was a disapointment and a waste of time. I went thru the entire process as far as having the inspestions done waiting to move in but instead I got a letter telling me my voucher expired so they sent everything back to tennessee no fault of my own MISCOMMUNICATION between the inspection office and my case worker. My voucher expired Nov. 4, 2010 but the inspection was done on Nov.22,2010. and another one on Dec.22,2010. So you figure out because I cant and obviously they cant either. They tell you the section 8 program is to help familys sustain and have a better way of life financily and of course I believed it. Its a problem when the system doesn't work.
