		<description>Yes, financial literacy is here to stay.  Nowadays, people have to design their own financial plan.  There are fewer and fewer instances when a worker can call upon a defined benefit pension.

For low-income families, there are really three sources of wealth: the expected value of future wages, home equity, and pensions/social security.  It appears that each pillar is now more shaky than we previously had accounted.  Even the first, wages, is dependent upon the long-term value of job skills, and we know that with globalization, that there are more competitors for jobs.</description>
