Champion 2Q earnings way up

Analysts believe that demand for manufactured housing is strong enough to overcome credit problems. Champion Enterprises reported a strong second quarter, beating per share profit estimates by more than 40 percent. Backlogs are growing throughout the industry. Champion did not indicate the extent of its backlog.
